During 2004 we sailed to the Whitsundays and decided to leave our boat "Shadow" at Mackay Marina for 12 months so that we could enjoy additional cruising holidays during 2005.
We have jealously protected our boat, preferring to totally look after it ourselves, complete all repairs and maintain it personally, generally not feeling comfortable with the "standard" of others. As such, we appointed, with some reservation, Boutique Marine Services to care for and maintain our boat during our absence.
What a delight! The upkeep, maintenance and general tending of the boat was impeccable. Anything that needed to be carried out was done with care and efficiency. Boutique Marine Services also ensured that the boat was, at all times, correctly berthed and even negotiated with the Marina a better and more protected berth than initially allocated. They also maintained the engine, batteries and equipment, aired the boat regularly and cleaned the hull and propeller each time we came to Mackay, so that it was ready to sail away and enjoy.
Top that off with their emailed monthly maintenance report and the pick up and delivery service to the airport and we could not be happier. A wonderful overall service from a willing and dedicated team.
If you decide to have your boat maintained at Mackay Marina, then, on our experience, you need not look beyond Boutique Marine Services.
